Irish Business Forum

The Irish Business Forum (IBF) in Abu Dhabi was formed by His Excellency Tom Russell (Irish Ambassador in Riyadh), Jim Mongey, (Regional Manager Enterprise Ireland), and Tadhg Flahive, President Irish Society Abu Dhabi.

The IBF first met in June 2008, and meets from time to time to discuss ways to promote Irish and UAE business interests. The forum is a fast growing group which has more than 45 members from a wide spectrum of business life in the UAE, from household names like Etihad, Ernst & Young, ABB and Group 4 Securicor to smaller entrepreneurial ventures, and which includes highly-informed CEOs, management, executives and decision-makers in multinational, Emirati, Gulf and Irish companies.

The thread that links them all is a shared Irish heritage and a commitment to developing the awareness, performance and profitability of Irish business interests in the region. The society meets at least once a month to discuss mutual interests and seek solutions to individual members’ needs.
